The final run of 2022 and this time we get festive, on this beautiful trail treasure hunt, connected, and lean into community spirit and togetherness.
Everyone of all abilities are welcome, if you have never been to an BTR event, please try this particular one, never ran in a group or on trails, definitely sign up.
Level of difficulty is 2/5, expect enchanted trails, rolling hills, exquisite lakes, dreamy woodland, tranquil, serene and very grounded.
Trent Country Park lies in 413 acres of rolling meadows, enchanting brooks, exquisite lakes, ancient woodland, and imposing historical sites. It forms part of London's Green Belt and being a country park it provides a natural, rural and tranquil atmosphere right on the outskirts of London on the borders of Enfield.
Rarity and distinctiveness lend the landscape an unusual beauty. Visitors can enjoy large open spaces for walking, jogging, running, or just chilling out in serene, bucolic and picturesque surroundings.
The magnificent stretches of Trent Country Park incorporate the wooded remnants of Enfield Chase, former royal hunting ground. Muntjac deer, rabbits, pheasants are nowadays the proud inhabitants of the park, and if you are very lucky you can catch a glimpse of them roaming over their land.
Most of the route is flat with some modest hills.
The park is open during daylight hours. The run follows a mix of tarmac paths/avenues and woodland paths, the latter of which can be uneven underfoot and can get quite muddy in winter and after wet weather. There are no stiles and just a few kissing gates on route. There are a few gentle climbs and descents throughout. The park has a cafe and toilets located alongside the car park, we should cover 5-7k and move for around 60 mins.
Please wear suitable clothing and trail shoes are recommended as this is a trail run taking in foot paths, fields, mud, grass, leaves & woodland. Bring layers, waterproofs, snacks, water & portable chargers for sure group pics.
It can be daunting doing something new with new people so please DM me any question, queries and concerns. We want to knock down all barriers to entry, make you feel seen, heard, comfortable and included. let’s democratise the outdoors and exhale as we feel grounded and present. The great outdoors is something for everyone to enjoy.
End the year in BTR style.
